Programmes Of THE HCI FOUNDATION
The HCI Foundation’s programmes have three focus areas: education at all levels, development and enrichment, and sustainability and protection of the environment.
Our programmes include:
Our Education programme funds initiatives at Tertiary, Secondary and Primary levels. Our flagship programme is the Tertiary level Bursary and Mentorship Programme; all our Bursary recipients are encouraged to give back by getting involved in community-based activities or by becoming mentors to new students.
Our development and enrichment programme funds organisations that provide skills and creative arts training opportunities for young people to assist them in becoming economically active, build their confidence and maximise their potential.
Our Environmental focus supports initiatives which enable communities to develop resources and infrastructure, and through education programmes, we raise awareness of the importance of natural resources for building sustainability at community level.
The Community Transport Support programme is run in the Western Cape in partnership with Golden Arrow Bus Services, which provides transport for 33 projects working in the fields of science and education, community upliftment, skills development, visual and performing arts, and sport and heritage.
The Foundation’s Health Programme primarily supports HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention programmes that assist beneficiaries to maintain their health and achieve self-sustainability.
The Foundation supports initiatives which assist refugees to rebuild their lives in South Africa, to become self–sufficient, and in this way to contribute to the development of the country.
